Metro maps across the city have started being updated, displaying the Benniganahalli station between Baiyappanahalli and Krishnarajapuram. This means that commuters will no longer have to take the shuttle bus from Baiyappanahalli to Krishnarajapuram in order to resume their commute on the purple line. Instead, they can relax knowing that their current metro can take them all the way to Kadugodi Tree Park. Citizens have been earnestly waiting for this stretch to be green lighted, using social media to urge the authorities to complete the final formalities.
This purple line will be Bengaluru’s longest metro stretch at 42.5km. In comparison, the green line runs a length of 31km. Any development of the Bengaluru metro is always keenly anticipated in the hopes that it will alleviate some of the crippling traffic that plagues the city.
