The civic body issued notices to 308 more buildings in the city which have yet applied for fire no-objection certificates (NOCs). On Sunday, 247 buildings were issued similar notices.
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) issued notices warning that any more delays will invite disconnection of water and electricity connections according to the Gujarat Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures (Amendment) Act, 2021. On Monday’s list were 219 highrises, 76 mixed highrises and 13 commercial highrises.
A press release on this was issued by the Ahmedabad Fire Safety and Emergency Services (AFES) on Monday. AMC has already drawn up a list of 555 highrises that have received notices, but still do not have fire NOCs.
“We will begin with cutting off the electricity and water connections of such highrises. This way, societies will not be able to operate their borewells. At the second stage, the drainage connections will also be cut,” said a senior AMC official.
