Ambuja Cements, the cement and building material company of Adani Group, plans to expand its clinker capacity by eight million tonnes at Bhatapara and Maratha units with 42 MW of WHRS, with provision to utilize 50% AFR and provision to operate on green power, the company said in a media release.
Ajay Kapur, CEO (Cement Business) said, “These brownfield expansion projects are part of our strategy to double our production capacity over the next five years from the current capacity of 67.5 MTPA.”
The capacity expansion projects will enable production of Blended Green Cement of 14 million tonnes, post all requisite approvals.
These projects are expected to be commissioned in 24 months and the capital expenditure will be funded from internal accruals.
The company reported a dip of 10.88 per cent in its net consolidated profit during the quarter ended March 31, 2023. Its profit after tax stood at Rs 763.30 crore in Q4 FY23 as against Rs 856.46 crore it registered in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. Its net consolidated total income stood at Rs 8,250.45 crore in Q4 FY23, a growth of 3.25 per cent from Rs 7,990.70 crore it recorded in the similar quarter last year.
