Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has unveiled a Ring Road project worth Rs 58 crore aimed at reducing traffic congestion in Alandi, a significant pilgrimage destination.
CM Fadnavis pointed out the critical traffic issues resulting from the daily arrival of devotees. He stressed that the Ring Road would facilitate better traffic movement and alleviate congestion.
Alandi, which is the site of the samadhi of the 13th-century Marathi saint Dnyaneshwar, attracts thousands of visitors daily, putting pressure on its narrow streets. In addition, CM Fadnavis mentioned that the BJP-led Municipal Council had launched a 10 MLD drinking water initiative in 2017, and he has now announced a new project costing Rs 322 crore to further improve Alandi’s water supply, catering to the increasing population and pilgrimage-related traffic.
