Premier Energies is set to invest Rs 5,942 crore to create a fully integrated solar manufacturing facility at Naidupeta Industrial Park, located in the Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh.
The project was announced by Minister for IT Nara Lokesh, who attributed the successful deal to Andhra Pradesh’s expedited governance, investor-centric policies, and strategic port-led logistics. Initial discussions commenced in October 2024, and by February 2025, the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation had allocated 269 acres for the development.
This initiative will feature a four GW TOPCon solar cell production line and a five GW silicon ingot and wafer manufacturing plant, ensuring comprehensive backward integration. It is anticipated to generate 3,500 direct jobs, fostering the growth of MSMEs and enhancing India’s solar value chain.
Minister Lokesh emphasized that Naidupeta’s closeness to ports and robust infrastructure are crucial factors for the swift implementation of the project. This initiative, which is part of Andhra Pradesh’s renewable manufacturing corridor, positions the state as a national center for cutting-edge photovoltaic technology and green industrial growth.
