The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) announced on Tuesday that it has successfully collected over Rs 500 crore in property tax during the initial seven months of the current financial year, spanning from April to October.
This revenue was gathered from 1.63 lakh property owners across eight divisions of the NMMC.
Dr. Kailash Shinde, the municipal commissioner and administrator, attributed this accomplishment to a blend of initiatives focused on the community and the integration of technology.
The property tax department of the NMMC has reached an impressive milestone by amassing more than Rs 500 crore in taxes within the first seven months of the financial year 2025-26, from April to October.
This significant increase in tax collection has been made possible through community-focused initiatives, the encouragement of digital payment methods, various awareness campaigns aimed at educating taxpayers, and the support of the citizens, he stated.
Out of all the total tax collection digital payments accounted for Rs 313.70 crore while the offline collection was Rs 186.41 crore.The NMMC has set the target of collecting Rs 1,000 crore in property tax this year
