KDA to take loan of 1,062 crore from NCR board

Kota Development Authority (KDA) has decided to take a loan of Rs 1,062 cr from National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) for development of infrastructure and enhancement of the road network in Kota. The decision was taken at the civic body’s third board meeting, held on Wednesday and chaired by KDA chairman Ravindra Goswami.

A proposal to engage Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) for consultancy work was also sanctioned in the meeting. HUDCO will be asked to prepare a masterplan for renovation of MBS Hospital campus, construction of an auditorium, renovation of a mini-secretariat, stadium, sports complex, new meeting hall for the district council, construction of EWS/LIG/MIG affordable housing, a flyover in front of the new greenfield airport, underpass on the national highway at Dharmpura Road, beautification of main roads and various parks, construction of a Constitution Park, and beautification of Kotri Lake, Raipura Lake, and Kishore Sagar Lake. After the DPR is sanctioned, the authority will apply to HUDCO for the requisite loan amount.

The meeting also sanctioned the consultancy work to be undertaken by Central Road Research Institute (CSIR), New Delhi, for identifying accident-prone sites in the city. Based on the project report provided by CSIR, KDA will proceed with the work. The proposal to appoint consultants for operational arrangements in various branches of the authority was also sanctioned in the meeting.
