403 developers use e-registration facility for first sale properties

While two months ago, 347 developers’ applications were approved, another 56 have been recently given a nod, said state officials.

The response to e-registration of first-sale properties from the office of the developer has been good with 403 of them carrying out the process from their offices, said officials with the property registration office on Friday.

Another 95 developers have applied for the facility for the registration of the first-sale properties, the officials said.

While two months ago, 347 developers’ applications were approved, another 56 have been recently given a nod, said state officials.

The initiative to ensure less crowding at the sub-registrar offices was drawing a good response, said the officials. The response was high in Pune, Mumbai , Thane, and Raigad, added officials.

The announcement for e-registration from developers’ offices was announced in October 2021, and it picked pace after many of them came forward.

Most of the developers were even trained before they started the process and it has seen a healthy response, said deputy inspector general of registrations (IT) Suhas Mapari.

Of the 56 approved applications, a total of 28 are from Pune city, followed by 11 from Mumbai suburban and the remaining from Palghar, Raigad, and Thane rural and city areas.

Credai state president Sunil Furde told that many developers have undergone the training provided and have expressed interest in this initiative. “While there were initial hiccups, it has been ironed out and many are interested in the process,” he said.
