In the past five years, the Centre has approved 25 road projects worth Rs 24,598 crore. This includes the Delhi-Vadodara Greenfield alignment worth Rs 8,845 crore.
To a question asked by Rajya Sabha member Narhari Amin, the Union government replied six tenders were awarded for 145.04km each of the Delhi-Vadodara greenfield alignment project.
Tenders for the Mumbai-Vadodara expressway have also been awarded. The Ahmedabad-Dholera expressway has been approved for Rs 3,397.2 crore. A total of Rs 1,441 crore has been utilized so far. Four projects have been approved for Rs 2,959.39 crore for the 140km long Sanchore-Santalpur road. It is a vital patch that will be part of the 1,256km long economic corridor between Amritsar and Jamnagar. The Centre has utilized Rs 1,577.20 crore so far.
Also, the stretch from Bhimasar Junction to Anjar-Bhuj Airport junction has been approved for Rs 1,373 crore. Of this, Rs 177 crore has been used so far. These five projects have been approved under the Bharat Mala project. TNN
