The state govt sanctioned Rs 10.35 crore for infrastructure development in slums across Hamirpur, Mathura, Hathras and Saharanpur districts under the Mukhyamantri Nagariya Alpviksit va Malin Basti Vikas Yojana.

Govt approved 49 projects under this initiative, which include the construction of better roads, drainage systems, and water disposal facilities in these areas. A govt spokesperson said that the funds will be used for works like CC road, interlocking road and drain construction in municipal bodies.

‘Under the projects approved by govt, road and drainage construction will take place in several municipal areas, including Mathura-Vrindavan Municipal Corporation, Goverdhan Nagar Panchayat, Rath Municipal Council, Sarila Nagar Panchayat in Hamirpur and Rampur Maniharan Nagar Panchayat in Saharanpur.

The focus is on areas that lack proper infrastructure,’ he said. In Mathura-Vrindavan, roads and drainage systems will be improved in places like Gulabnagar, Bakalpur, Idgahpura and Gopalpur. Similarly, interlocking and CC roads will be constructed in Hathras and Hamirpur.’These projects will prevent waterlogging before the monsoon and make movement easier for people,’ the spokesperson added.
