Thiruvananthapuram: Under LIFE housing mission the Kerala state government is aiming to complete 2 lakh homes by December. Already 1,03,644 houses have been completed under phase 1 and 2 of the LIFE mission. The first phase aimed at completing houses which could not be finished under old housing schemes. 51,509 houses out of 54,351 houses have been completed under phase 1. 

The government disbursed Rs 633.67 crores as financial assistance to beneficiaries, according to a statement issued by LIFE mission.

21,776 houses could be completed under PMAY-LIFE scheme. The housing complex at Adimali has been completed and was handed over to landless-homeless beneficiaries in the panchayat. 98,281 beneficiaries have been found eligible for second phase following gram sabha survey.

86,341 beneficiaries have entered into an agreement with respective local bodies. An amount of Rs 2,643.9 crore has been allotted under second phase of the scheme. The second phase is expected to be completed by March 31, 2020. 

The third phase will focus on constructing apartment units for eligible beneficiaries out of 3,37,416 people included in the list. Tender procedures are being executed for pilot apartments under LIFE mission which will be completed by August 2020.
