The Telangana housing board has declared the availability of one-bedroom flats specifically designated for the Lower Income Group (LIG) in Gachibowli and various other locations. A total of 339 flats are on offer in Hyderabad, Khammam, and Warangal at prevailing market rates, as stated by V P Gautam, the vice chairman of the housing board.
These flats are situated within gated communities where numerous families currently reside, and they have been exclusively allocated to the LIG category to ensure access to quality housing. Positioned in highly developed and sought-after areas, these flats are priced significantly lower than the open market.
Officials have indicated that these flats are aimed at individuals with an annual income of up to Rs 6 lakh (Rs 50,000 per month). Gautam mentioned that there are 111 flats available in Gachibowli, 102 near the Warangal railway station, and 126 at Sriram Hills in Khammam. Interested applicants will be assigned these flats through a transparent lottery system.
The flats vary in size from 450 to 650 square feet, with prices in Gachibowli ranging from Rs 26 lakh to a maximum of Rs 36.20 lakh. In Warangal, the prices range from Rs 19 lakh to Rs 21.5 lakh, while in Khammam, they begin at Rs 11.25 lakh. Prospective buyers can submit their applications online or at designated service centres.
The lottery for the Gachibowli flats is scheduled for January 6, the lottery for the Warangal flats on January 8, and the lottery for the Khammam flats on January 10. Additional information can be accessed on the housing board’s website.
