In the last financial year (2018-19) itself the state missed several deadlines to complete the construction of sanctioned number of houses under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Grameen (PMAY-G), the rural development department has set a target of 3.64 lakh houses in the state for 2019-20.
The department already has a balance amount of Rs 45.57 crore under PMAY scheme.
According to a rural development department order, 74,163 houses have been allotted to scheduled castes, 1.45 lakh houses allotted to scheduled tribes, 16,792 to the minorities and 1.27 lakh houses to others.
The estimated target which was earlier set at 3.66 lakh was later reduced to 3.64 lakh houses in a revised order dated June 13.
