Southern Railway announced special trains to southern Tamil Nadu to clear extra rush during the upcoming festival months.
According to a statement, train No. 06035 Tambaram – Kochuveli weekly AC express special will leave Tambaram at 7.30pm on Oct 11, 18, 25, Nov 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, Dec 6, 13, 20, and 27 and reach Kochuveli at 11.30pm. the next day. Train No. 06036 Kochuveli – Tambaram weekly AC express special will leave Kochuveli at 3.25 pm on Oct. 13, 20, 27, Nov 3, 10, 17, 24, Dec 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 and reach Tambaram at 7.35am the next day.
These trains will have a composition of 14 AC three-tier economy coaches and two luggage-cum-brake vans. They will have stoppages at Chengalpattu, Melmaruvathur, Villupuram, Vridhachalam, Ariyalur, Srirangam, Trichy, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sivakasi, Srivilliputhur, Rajapalayam, Sankarankovil, Pambakovil Shandy, Kadayanallur, Tenkasi, Sengottai, Tenmalai, Punalur, Auveneswaram, Kundara, and Kollam.Train No. 06184 Tambaram – Coimbatore weekly festival special will leave Tambaram at 6pm on Oct 11, 18, 25, Nov. 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 and reach Coimbatore at 8.10am the next day. Train No. 06185 Coimbatore – Tambaram weekly festival special will leave Coimbatore at 11.45pm and reach Tambaram at 12.30pm the next day.
These trains will have a composition of one AC two-tier, two AC three-tier, 12 sleeper class, three general second class, and two second class coaches (Divyangjan Friendly). They will stop at Chengalpattu, Melmaruvathur, Tindivanam, Villupuram, Panruti, Tirupadiripuliyur, Chidambaram, Sirkazhi, Mayiladuthurai, Kumbakonam, Thanjavur, Trichy, Dindigul, Oddanchathiram, Palani, Udumalaipettai, Pollachi, Kinathukadavu, and Podanur.
These special trains are operated to provide connectivity to passengers and public from places like Villupuram, Panruti, Chidambaram, Sirkazhi, Mayiladuthurai, Kumbakonam, and Thanjavur to reach Coimbatore, the statement added.
