Rs 12 cr approved for renovation of road in Patna

State urban development and housing minister, Nitin Nabin, on Tuesday approved a fund of Rs 12.18 crore for the construction of a 1.7-km-long road in the Transport Nagar area of Kankarbagh, Patna. The minister stated that this fund will be used for the renovation of roads in Transport Nagar, which will greatly facilitate movement for millions of residents.

He mentioned that Transport Nagar was established in the 1990s and is now one of the busiest areas in Patna. “Vehicles and people from various parts of the state come here for goods transportation every day. The roads deteriorates due to the continuous movement of heavy vehicles like trucks and buses,” he said.The minister said, “Under the NDA govt, a network of roads is being laid across every corner of Bihar. In line with this, PCC (plain cement concrete) roads are being constructed in Transport Nagar as well. After the construction of this road, local residents will be relieved of the problems faced during the rainy season, and traffic management will also be smooth,” Nabin said.

Patna Municipal Corporation submitted a proposal for funding its construction. Additionally, the Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Bihar Industry Association also brought this issue to attention. Following this, the department approved the allocation of Rs 12.18 crore.
