Vistadome coaches have been designed to provide panoramic views to the passengers while enhancing their travelling comfort on certain routes. These coaches have large windows on the sides and glass panels on the roof to provide a better viewing experience.

Vistadome coaches are being operated by the Indian Railways on the Visakhapatnam-Araku Sector, Mumbai-Madgaon route and Kalka-Shimla sector. The Ahmedabad-Kevadia Jan Shatabdi also has the Vistadome coach which provides visitors a very unique experience.
“Full house for Vistadome coach in Mumbai-Pune Deccan Express Special Train started from today. Passengers can enjoy unhindered views of river, valley, waterfalls,” the Indian Railways tweeted today.
The facilities provided in a Vistadome coach include wide windows, observation window at one end, roof with glass look out with controlled opalescence, rotatable seats, passenger information system, automatic sliding doors, mini pantry, wide door for divyang, etc.
Apart from standard safety arrangements, the glass used in Vistadome coaches are shatter resistant with a film coating for safety of passengers.
The Indian Railways has planned several Vistadome coaches for production program in the coming years, especially on a number of scenically beautiful routes, including those in Kashmir and Northeast India which would boost tourism in the region.
