The foundation stone for six National Highway projects totalling 119 km and costing Rs. 2300 crore was placed by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
Speaking at the event, Shri Gadkari said that by enhancing connectivity in Indore and the state, the projects being launched will facilitate progress.
- According to Shri Nitin Gadkari, the Rau Circle traffic issue will be resolved, reducing congestion. With easy access from Indore, businesses, students, and artisans in the neighbouring areas will have more opportunities.
- There would be improved connectivity between the villages along the Indore-Harda route. He said that the Dhar-Pithampur Industrial Corridor would create additional job possibilities.
- The Minister claims that shorter travel distances between Tejaji Nagar (Indore) and Burhanpur, as well as Indore and Harda, will result in fuel savings.He asserted that travellers going to Khandwa and Omkareshwar will have simple access to the routes.
- He claims that with better connectivity to the agricultural markets, it will be easier for agricultural products to reach the big markets.During this effort, the State Government and NHAI signed a memorandum of understanding to construct ropeways at 14 specified places in Madhya Pradesh.
