NHAI finalised tenders for construction of road from Appa to Manneguda

NHAI has finalized tenders for the construction of a 46 km stretch of road from Appa (Telangana Police Academy) in the suburbs of Hyderabad to Manneguda in Vikarabad district

The National Highways Development Authority (NHAI) has finalized tenders for the construction of a 46 km stretch of road from Appa (Telangana Police Academy) in the suburbs of Hyderabad to Manneguda in Vikarabad district as part of the Hyderabad-Bijapur National Highway.

The tenders were won by Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL), a leading construction company.

The National Highway Authority of India presented the Letter of Award (LOA) for the tender to Megha. A four-lane road is being constructed at a total cost of Rs 956 crore. Of this, Rs 786 crore has been allocated for road construction,.

Work will start in another two months after the completion of tenders for the construction of the road, said Chevella MP Dr Ranjit Reddy. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao paid special attention to the construction of this road. He has been in regular consultation with the Center on road construction for the last three years.

Eighty per cent land acquisition has also been completed for the construction of this four-lane road from Appa to Manneguda. A total of 18 underpasses will be constructed on this route. Bypass roads will be constructed at Moinabad and Chevella.

Vikrabad district along with Chevella will observe rapid growth once this road is completed, said Dr Ranjit Reddy.
