A Bengaluru-based firm has set a world record by constructing a 1.2 lakh square feet pre-engineered building (PEB) in just 64 hours. The project was executed by Mount Roofing & Structures Pvt Ltd at the KIADB Industrial Area in Sira, Tumkur, Karnataka.
The achievement has been officially recognized by the World Book of Records Limited, United Kingdom. Santosh Shukla, an adjudicator from the organization, confirmed the record at a presentation ceremony. This accomplishment highlights advancements in infrastructure development and industrial construction techniques in Karnataka, demonstrating the state’s capability in rapid project execution.
M B Patil, Karnataka’s Minister for Large & Medium Scale Industries and Infrastructure Development, attended the event as the chief guest. He stated that this project reflects Karnataka’s growing role in industrial infrastructure and its ability to execute large-scale construction projects efficiently. He also emphasized that the state continues to focus on engineering advancements and modern construction methodologies to support industrial expansion, making it an attractive destination for investment and development.
The record-setting structure was commissioned by DhaSh PV Technologies as part of a larger solar PV manufacturing plant. The facility, valued at Rs 346.35 crore, is dedicated to the production of solar PV junction boxes, supporting India’s growing renewable energy sector and strengthening local manufacturing capabilities. The project aligns with the government’s push for increased domestic production of essential solar components, reducing reliance on imports.
Sher Singh, Managing Director of Mount Roofing & Structures Pvt Ltd, highlighted the significance of PEB technology in industrial construction. He stated that pre-engineered buildings enhance efficiency, reduce construction time, and provide a cost-effective solution for large-scale industrial projects. By adopting PEB technology, the construction industry can achieve faster turnaround times without compromising on quality or durability.
The construction process involved meticulous planning, the use of advanced machinery, and streamlined workflows. Pre-fabricated components were manufactured in controlled environments and assembled on-site, significantly cutting down construction time while maintaining high standards of structural integrity. PEB structures are increasingly being adopted in industrial projects due to their cost-effectiveness, sustainability, and rapid implementation.
This successful project strengthens Karnataka’s reputation as a hub for industrial and technological innovation. The state has been focusing on infrastructure development to attract investments and boost industrial productivity. Policies promoting ease of doing business, simplified approval processes, and technological advancements have encouraged companies to establish operations in Karnataka, further reinforcing its position as an industrial leader.
DhaSh PV Technologies’ new facility is expected to make a significant contribution to India’s renewable energy sector by enhancing the production capacity of essential components. This initiative supports the government’s long-term goals of promoting renewable energy adoption, increasing domestic manufacturing, and reducing carbon footprints.
With this record-breaking project, Mount Roofing & Structures Pvt Ltd has demonstrated the potential of modern construction methods in meeting industrial demands efficiently. The project serves as an example of how pre-engineered buildings can significantly reduce construction timelines without compromising on quality or durability.
