The Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) has organised a two-day special camp, on Thursday and Friday, to clear building-related proposals.
All applications, for plot sizes less than 1,000 square metre, that were submitted manually before the mandatory online application process was streamlined will be put up for clearance.
All civic engineers and top officials will attend the camp under one roof so that the proposals are cleared in a speedy manner by addressing the mistakes or discrepancies, if any.
Ramesh Mhaskar, deputy town planner, said, “The building proposals for new constructions, issuance of occupancy certificate, application for plinth checking and layout approval will be done during the two-day camp. Large number of proposals that were submitted before July 1 will taken up for manual sanctioning. From July 1 onwards, the applications are to be submitted online and no manual sanctioning is allowed.”
Disposal of the applications made for manual clearance will bring down the workload on the town planning staff of the KMC. Civic chief Kadambari Balkawade has started sparing two hours every week to address the concerns of the citizens related to the town planning department.
During the first outreach session, Balkawade thought about the need to conduct the special camp.
