Kanpur Metro gets ISO certification for Health-Safety and Environment

The Kanpur Metro Rail project has received certificates of health and safety and environmental management from international organizations.

The 23km long Kanpur Metro Rail Project between IIT and Naubasta has received ISO certification for Health-Safety and Environment management during the civil construction of the corridor.

The corridor has received ISO 45001:2018 for ‘Occupational Health & Safety Management System’ and ISO 14001:2015 for ‘Environmental Management System’, valid till May 2024. These certifications have been given considering the management systems that have been established and executed during the construction activities of the first corridor.

Meanwhile, the priority section of Kanpur Metro (IIT to Motijheel) received these certifications in May 2021. Currently, Metro services are being operated on this stretch (priority stretch), and construction works are being executed on the remaining section of the first corridor. Thus, the previously received ISO certificates have been revised and now the whole of the first corridor has the certifications.
