JSW Steel has appointed Tarun Jha as its new head of marketing. Jha shared the announcement via a LinkedIn post.He stated, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as head of marketing at JSW Steel! Much grateful to all the mentors, colleagues and friends who have been part of this journey. Look forward to more meaning and purpose in everything that I do.
“Jha began his career as an account executive at Mudra Communications, gaining early experience in advertising and client management. He then moved on to Ogilvy and Mather, where he further honed his marketing skills.
Following his tenure at Ogilvy and Mather, Jha held significant roles in several major companies. He worked with Videocon Group and Mahindra and Mahindra, where he contributed to their marketing strategies.
After completing his MBA, Jha started his career in advertising and spent five years before making a lateral shift to marketing.
Jha’s career trajectory continued to rise as he took on the role of head of marketing at Skoda India in 2008 and spent 15 years with the company including a three year stint in Prague, Czech Republic.
At Skoda Auto Volkswagen India, Jha played a crucial role in driving brand growth and customer engagement.
Jha also served as the chief executive officer of Havas India. His most recent position was that of a strategic advisor, where he leveraged his extensive experience to provide insights and guidance on marketing and business strategy.
