The two-lane Ram Setu overbridge was virtually inaugurated by the Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari. The bridge was built at a cost of Rs 102 crore, in Balotra city.It was dedicated to the public in a programme under the aegis of chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Sunday.
CM Sharma and Dy CM Diya Kumari, joined the programme through video conference.Minister of state for industry and commerce Krishna Kumar Vishnoi, Union minister of state for agriculture and farmer welfare Kailash Choudhary, district collector Sushil Kumar Yadav, SP Harishankar and public representatives, social activists, media and district residents were present.
Sharma in his address said that there has been expansion of roads in Rajasthan due to efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union road transport minister Gadkari. He also praised Union MoS for agriculture Choudhary for development works in his area. Sharma said that with Choudhary’s efforts, the Ram Setu overbridge was being dedicated to people of Balotra city and it would ease travel to Jasol, Nakoda and Brahm Dham.
Gadkari in his message said that with the construction of roads, new opportunities are created for employment and for development of agriculture and economy.
