Excon 2019

This year’s Excon demonstrated the role of smart technologies and nextgen construction equipment in accelerating the growth of infrastructure in the country. In order to sustain investment in infrastructure, the Government of India has granted sops, including a large number of special economic zones (SEZs), to the capital goods industry of which construction equipment is a part; especially with an impetus to increase exports. Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), India’s Premier Industry Association organised Excon 2019. CII was supported by the Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association (ICEMA) as Sector Partner for the event.

Over the last editions Excon has grown as one of the top construction equipment exhibitions in the country. It is one of the largest construction equipment exhibition in South Asia. It includes 3,00,000 SQ.MTS of exhibition display area. It is UFI approved event. It has participation from India and abroad. Indian construction equipment companies can get a huge exposure to the latest technologies in equipment, components and spare parts and evaluate their own cost competitiveness. Through strategic ties and partnerships at the event, the industry can look forward to handling projects without or with minimal imports.

The theme for the tenth edition of the EXCON was “Smart i-tech- Next Gen India@75”, which aims to demonstrate the role of smart technologies and innovation in design in the manufacture of nextgen construction equipment and machinery to support the rapid pace of infrastructure development in the South Asian region. B. S. Yediyurappa, the Chief Minister of Karnataka and Nitin Jairam Gadkari,  Minister for Road Transport & Highways of India inaugurated Excon 2019.

“The construction equipment industry can hope to expect a 40% increase in sales in the near future, as the government is pumping huge amounts of investment in road and other infrastructure projects such as the development of waterways, airports, ports, and smart cities. But the private sector should focus on bringing down the cost of construction and pollution,” said Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport & Highways, and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India at Excon 2019.

As part of the 10th year celebrations of EXCON, CII  organised special activities like celebrating Women in Infrastructure, exclusive Pavilions on AI, IoT, Robotics, Startups, Components & Parts among others.
