CMRL has awarded the contract for the operation and maintenance of its phase 2 network, which spans 118.9 route kilometers throughout the city, to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for a sum of ₹5,870 crore.
Corridor 3 extends from Madhavaram Milk Colony in the north to Siruseri Sipcot II in the south, traversing significant city areas such as Perambur, Nungambakkam, Teynampet, Adyar, and Sholinganallur. Corridor 4 connects Lighthouse on the Marina beachfront to Poonamallee Bypass, linking the central and western regions of the city, including Mylapore, Kodambakkam, Vadapalani, Porur, and Kumananchavadi.
Corridor 5 serves as an inter-corridor connector, linking Madhavaram Milk Colony to Sholinganallur through Koyambedu, Alandur, and Velachery, thereby enhancing east-west transit.
The agreement encompasses comprehensive operations and maintenance duties for all three lines. On Wednesday, CMRL Managing Director M A Siddique presented the Letter of Acceptance to DMRC Managing Director Dr. Vikas Kumar.
