Bengaluru-headquartered real estate major Brigade Group has announced plans to develop a third tower of the World Trade Center (WTC) at Infopark Kochi. This decision follows the signing of a land lease agreement, marking another significant expansion for the company in Kerala.
The new tower will stand 16 storeys high, including a six-deck car park, and will encompass a total built-up area of 2.6 lakh square feet. The project, valued at ₹150 crore, will be constructed on a non-SEZ plot and is expected to be completed within three years.
M R Jaishankar, Executive Chairman of Brigade Group, highlighted the company’s successful occupancy of the existing two WTC towers at Infopark, which together offer a combined built-up area of 7.7 lakh square feet. He emphasized Brigade Group’s commitment to expanding its presence in Kerala, indicating that the company will continue to seek out viable land parcels for future developments.
In addition to the WTC towers, Brigade Group has also developed the luxury business hotel Four Points by Sheraton Kochi Infopark, located in Phase 1 of the campus. The company is currently working on Brigade Square in Trivandrum, a Grade A office building in Technopark Phase 1.
The signing ceremony of the land lease agreement was attended by several state government dignitaries, including Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. During the event, Vijayan noted that 583 new companies have established offices in Infopark since 2016, generating approximately 70,000 jobs. He expressed optimism that the third WTC tower would further bolster the development of the IT sector in the state.
Brigade Group holds the license for six World Trade Centers across South India, located in Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Hyderabad, Trivandrum, and Devanahalli. Over the past 38 years, the company has completed around 300 buildings, totaling 90 million square feet across a diverse portfolio, including residential, commercial, and hospitality sectors.
Brigade Group continues to show robust growth and investment plans. The company recently announced the launch of 15 million square feet in Chennai by 2030, with an investment of ₹8000 crore. Additionally, the group plans to introduce more than 6.5 million square feet of housing projects in Bengaluru and Chennai, committing ₹2700 crore to these developments.
The strategic expansions and investments reflect Brigade Group’s confidence in the South Indian real estate market and its dedication to providing state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities. The development of the third WTC tower in Kochi is poised to enhance the city’s reputation as a growing IT hub and contribute significantly to the local economy.
