The Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) is exploring areas, like issuing certificates of enlistments, mutation, building plan sanction and trade licence, to generate revenues. This, apart from collecting property tax.
With the civic body expecting the state to sanction the proposal to allow an extra floor on residential buildings in Salt Lake, BMC, while tabling the Budget, proposed an earning of Rs 32 crore from building plan sanction fees from April 1.
It also proposed a revenue of Rs 5.5 crore from mutation fees. Also, the civic body has proposed a revenue income of Rs 3.6 crore from trade licence issuing fees.
The civic body, which collected Rs 2.9 crore from trade licence fees till December 31, 2022, has proposed to earn Rs 3.6 crore from the field.
