In view of constraints in visiting sites for assessment due to the Covid-19 crisis, the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has adopted e-mapping technology for e-auction. Bidders can locate sites from the comfort of their home.
The BDA has issued a notification for the sale of 308 sites through e-auction. Owing to the lockdown, the bidders are unable to visit the sites.
The authority has roped in a software company and done e-mapping of all sites that are put up for e-auction, which is published in its official website.
As the sites are geo-tagged, they can be accessed by the public from across the globe by clicking on the site number. They will be visible to the public on Google Maps with details about layout and dimension.
BDA commissioner HR Mahdev said the system will be adopted permanently.
