The district authorities in Visakhapatnam are once again gearing up for the land pooling for “Housing for Poor” and a preliminary exercise had already been completed for more than 770 acres of land pooling as the authorities have identified the lands and extent from various villages.
The Grama Sabhas would be conducted at the Panchayat Offices from June 12 to June 18 for public opinion. If the public has any objections, they can lodge their objections at Land Protection Cell Deputy Tahsildars at Tahesildars’ offices before July 4.
As per the issued notification for land pooling, 771 acres would be acquired in Anandapuram (401 acres), Visakha rural (118) mandal, Padmanabham (116), and Bheemili (135 acres) mandals. Around 500 acres would be given to the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (VMRDA).
It is recalled that the government had acquired around 6000 acres through land pooling when the government land was not available for the Housing for Poor three years ago. By the notification issued by the Deputy Special Collector of Land Acquisition, the majority of lands would be pooled in Anandapuram mandal, including Mukundapuram 72 acres, Sontyam 239 acres, Kusuluvada 66 acres, and other villages, apart from the government lands at Mukundapuram and Sontyam.
The authorities would acquire Narasapuram, and Tunivalasa in Padmanabham mandal, RY Agraharam, Nerellavalasa, Tallavalasa, Chippada, and Dakamarri villages in Bheemili mandal. Lands in Paradesi Palem and Sixth Ward (Kommadi) in GVMC limits in Visakha Rural mandal would be pooled for the Housing for Poor.
