Andhra chief TTE collects Rs 1.27 cr from 17,000 ticketless travellers

A chief travelling ticket examiner (TTE), who works with the Guntakal railway division in Andhra Pradesh which falls under the south coast railway zone, has achieved a rare feat of collecting fines to the tune of Rs 1.27 crore from ticketless passengers in a span of one year.

G Uday Ram Singh — who slapped fines on 17,321 ticketless passengers during 2022-2023 — has joined the Rs one-crore club of the Indian Railway as far as fine collection for ticketless travel is concerned.

Tirupati railway station director K Sathya Narayana felicitated Singh, who had won two awards earlier, including best general manager award in 2020 and the best commercial manager in 2022.
