The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) said it has cleared 33,000 applications pertaining to property tax-related issues during its ‘green corridor drive’.
The chairman of the revenue committee, Jainik Vakil, said they received many applications regarding change of name, change of ownership and tax rebate among others.
Vakil said 32,545 applications were disposed of in the first fortnight of June. The highest number of applications, 7,980, were received from the Western Zone which includes areas like Paldi, Vasna, Navrangpura and Naranpura. This was followed by 5,208 in the North West Zone, which includes areas of Bodakdev, Sarkhej, and Bopal.
The officials said 6,600 applications were pertaining to change of the occupant’s names and 5,844 were pertaining to transfer of ownership.
Vakil said, at present, as soon as the application is submitted, the applicant receives an SMS with details regarding required documents.
