The Brihat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike( BBMP) has proposed to construct 15 skywalks at the cost of Rs 44 crores on the Magadi Road. These skywalks will connect the Metro station to Leprosy Hospital and a water tank at the junction.
The tenders of the project are invited under two packages by
BBMP. One of the proposed structures is an
integrated skywalk on Magadi Road, which will connect the Metro station to
Leprosy Hospital and a water tank at the junction.
120 skywalks all across the city have been proposed by BBMP. Out of these 120
skywalks, 33 skywalks are already completed and around 6 of them are under
construction and will be over by the end of this month. An official from the
BBMP’s road insfrastructure department confimred that, these 14 skywalks are a
part of the 120 skywalks proposed by BBMP. These skywalks are being built with
the state governments grant. The BBMP is also planning to call for tenders of
20 more skywalks in another week on a public private partnership model.
“For the rest of the locations, we have prepared feasibility studies and are consulting with the public, including shop owners in commercial locations,” the officer added.
