65 buildings between Jinsi & Lakshmibai Pratima to be trimmed for road widening

Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) officials said that they have started issuing notices in the name of the residents whose constructions are located on this stretch.

Portions of 65 residential structures located between Jinsi and Lakshmibai Pratima will be removed to pave way for a proposed road widening project.

Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) officials said that they have started issuing notices in the name of the residents whose constructions are located on this stretch.

“Locals have been asked to submit building permission related documents of their respective building within the next seven days. We will be verifying their details and compensation will be provided accordingly,” IMC’s zonal building officer Vivesh Jain said.

He said that they will start marking the central line on the road between Jinsi Square and Lakshmibai Pratima Square and portions of structures coming in the way would be identified accordingly.

“An 80 ft road is planned in the area and portions of at least 65 structures will have to be removed,” he said, while adding that the process will take at least 15 days or so, and removal action will be taken at the end of the month.

Many of the structures located on the stretch are older than 50 years and finding their building permission documents is a difficult task for the locals. Many of the residents have also approached civic body officials seeking time for the same.

Civic body officials said that not all structures located on the stretch will get affected. “Only portions of the structures will be removed,” they said.
