30 lakh EWS houses to have Swiss technology-Andhra Pradesh

The government has decided to construct 30 lakh houses for weaker sections in next four years starting April 2020 that may be the biggest in the country and one of the biggest in the world.

For the first time in the history of Andhra Pradesh, the government has decided to provide 30 lakh houses to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) with the world-class ‘Indo-Swiss energy-efficient building technology’ which helps considerably reduce temperatures inside the house, enhance thermal comfort (cooling) and substantial reduction in energy consumption.

After the state cabinet took the decision to construct 30 lakh houses for EWS in 14,097 YSR Jagananna colonies, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) had swung into action and communicated with APSECM, SDA of AP and deputed Building Energy Efficiency Project officials who met principal secretary for AP Housing department Ajay Jain recently conveyed their willingness to implement the BEEP with the help of federal department of foreign affairs (FDFA) of the Swiss Confederation and assistance of AP State Energy Conservation Mission (APSECM), state-designated agency for Energy Efficiency of AP.

In this context, during a video conference with housing department and BEE and APSECM on Sunday, Ajay Jain said the government has decided to construct 30 lakh houses for weaker sections in next four years starting April 2020 that may be the biggest in the country and one of the biggest in the world.

Jaganmohan Reddy has directed the department to use the best energy efficiency technologies while constructing the houses and provide the best living standards to the poor, Ajay Jain said.
