The government of Odisha intends to utilize the recently introduced Urban Invest Window (UiWIN) to expedite the advancement of affordable housing and rental initiatives under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U) 2.0.
This initiative, which was launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in November, seeks to enhance urban infrastructure financing and project implementation across various states and Union Territories.
The Housing and Urban Development Department of Odisha has directed municipal commissioners to familiarize themselves with the features of UiWIN to guarantee the prompt completion of urban projects. Subhananda Mohapatra, the Mission Director of the Odisha Urban Housing Mission, emphasized that the state will undertake projects in cities such as Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, and Paradip, where there is an increasing demand for affordable housing.
The technology provided by Hudco will assist us in planning and executing the proposed projects within the designated timelines, stated an official from urban development. This initiative is anticipated to draw investment and hasten the development of housing within the state.
