Asia Pacific is estimated to be one of the market all set to dominate the construction equipment market. This growth can be attributed to the improving socio-economic conditions in emerging economies. The sizable population in India have resulted in an increased number of government projects such as airports, sewer systems, and renewable energy projects. This growth can be attributed to the increasing infrastructure spending in this region. The Indian government has recently invested in the infrastructure sector. Substantial investment in the development of infrastructure in India is supposed to increase the demand for different kinds of construction equipment. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has implemented its Value Engineering Program’, which directs constructors to use innovative technologies, materials, and equipment that can reduce the overall project cost and adverse effect on the environment. So the equipment sector is all set to witness growth. Therefore Excon becomes even more important this year.
The 10th edition of EXCON – The International Construction Equipment and Technology Trade Fair is taking place at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) between the 10th and 14th of December 2019. The event is scheduled at a time when continued investments in Infrastructure development is needed to ensure sustained growth in India. This is also an important growth driver for India’s construction equipment industry.
B. S. Yediyurappa, the Chief Minister of Karnataka and Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport & Highways of India inaugurated Excon 2019.
In order to sustain investment in infrastructure, the Government of India has granted sops, including a large number of special economic zones (SEZs), to the capital goods industry of which construction equipment is a part; especially with an impetus to increase exports. Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), India’s Premier Industry Association is organising Excon 2019. CII is supported by the Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association (ICEMA) as Sector Partner for the event.
Excon is a platform to connect all infrastructure stakeholders, including policymakers, investors, and developers, with the exciting growth story of India’s Infrastructure. Over the last editions Excon has grown as one of the top construction equipment exhibitions in the country. It is one of the largest construction equipment exhibition in South Asia. It includes 3,00,000 SQ.MTS of exhibition display area. It is UFI approved event. It has participation from India and abroad. Indian construction equipment companies can get a huge exposure to the latest technologies in equipment, components and spare parts and evaluate their own cost competitiveness. Through strategic ties and partnerships at the event, the industry can look forward to handling projects without or with minimal imports.
The exhibition aims to provide a thrust to sustainable development of infrastructure and the sectors peripheral to it. The new technology and innovations reflected in the equipment/products displayed at the exhibition would aid in the robust growth of the country’s infrastructure. The focus will be on cost, quality, global standards and timely execution of projects. With a strong global footprint and the expanding exposure.
