India’s road infrastructure faces persistent challenges such as inconsistent material quality, delayed supply, and poor alignment with local environmental and traffic conditions. PP Softtech, a rapidly growing Faridabad-based importer and supplier of bitumen, addresses these issues by delivering climate- and region-specific bitumen selected through a data-driven process that considers terrain, usage, and durability. The company ensures reliability through real-time logistics tracking, multi-stage quality checks, and strong international sourcing. By introducing advanced solutions like polymer-modified and warm mix bitumen, the company supports the construction of high-performance, longer-lasting roads across diverse project locations.
In this regard, Constrofacilitator spoke exclusively with Prashant Garg, Founder and Managing Director of PP Softtech Private Limited. Since starting the company in 2020, he has worked to fill an important gap in India’s road construction sector by making sure high-quality, climate-suitable bitumen is delivered on time across the country. Under his leadership, the company has built a strong and reliable supply chain that supports road projects in different regions. His focus on innovation, sustainability, and efficient logistics has made him a trusted name in the infrastructure sector.
In the interview, Mr. Prashant Garg emphasizes the importance of using durable, climate-specific bitumen to improve road quality across India. He advocates for a national bitumen quality index to promote transparency and standardization in material selection. He also explains how PP Softtech is addressing key supply chain gaps by leveraging data-driven sourcing, region-wise customisation, and streamlined logistics to ensure timely delivery and consistent quality for infrastructure projects.

Here are the excerpts of the interview.
1. What are your views on the current state of India’s road infrastructure development? Are we building roads that are truly durable and future-ready?
India’s road infrastructure has witnessed notable improvements and growth in recent years. Connectivity has improved drastically along with easing congestion. Government initiatives like PM Gati Shakti and Bharatmala have also played a major role in accelerating this growth. Even though the rapid pace and scale at which development is taking place is commendable, there are still challenges that prevail in the process of making durable and future ready roadways. Many roads still lack durability due to negligence in terms of materials used.
Going forward, the focus should be on using better quality materials, sticking to strict quality check procedures and taking care of long term value rather than just the upfront cost. It is crucial to make our roads more sustainable and climate resilient to keep up with changing times.
2. Can you briefly tell us about PP Softtech and its core areas of operations?
We are headquartered in Faridabad, Haryana and are one of India’s fastest-growing companies in the road construction materials and oil distribution sectors. As of now we are also India’s fastest-growing importer of Bitumen as we ensure region-appropriate bitumen supply, factoring in climate and traffic intensity, a critical but often overlooked aspect of road-building efficiency in India. PP Softtech aims to streamline the import and supply of Bitumen across India. We supply both bulk and packed materials, including drums and flexi containers, and cater to high-volume requirements with precision and speed.
3. Does India need a national bitumen quality index or rating system to bring more transparency and accountability in road projects? Share your views keeping the global landscape in mind as well.
Definitely. A national bitumen quality index in India can be a great catalyst to enhance transparency and accountability and reduce chances of substandard work or corruption. This will help in setting consistent quality standards that would be followed by all states and contractors. Data driven decision making and innovations can lead to improved road durability. Countries like the US and Australia are already following strict grading and performance guidelines that help stakeholders make smarter and informed decisions.
India can also take major steps and make significant progress by adopting a similar system that will ensure consistent performance of road materials and building trust in public- private projects. Over the period of time this can lead to better infrastructure and more efficient use of public funds.
4. Tell us about some of the major road or highway projects that PP Softtech has supplied bitumen for.
At PP Softtech we are proud to have played a crucial role in some of India’s most important and noteworthy infrastructure projects. This includes major expressways in Maharashtra, key highway corridors in Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu or urban road upgrades in Delhi NCR.
What distinguishes us in the market is our capacity to supply high-quality bitumen reliably, even to distant and isolated locations or during tight deadlines.PP Softtech ensures that every product it delivers is of top quality. The team checks the materials at every stage to make sure they are strong, durable, and meet the required standards. This has helped us earn trust of leading EPC contractors and government agencies

5. PP Softtech focuses on region-specific bitumen. How do you determine which grade is best suited for each geography?
Ans5 – At PP Softtech we completely rely on a data driven approach to choose the correct bitumen for each project. We also take in account real world factors like climatic conditions of the areas, traffic load expected, soil characteristics and also how long the road is expected to last. All these factors play a crucial role in our decision making. For example, a road on a hilly region with freeze thaw cycles needs a very different grade of bitumen as compared to the one in the hot plains or humid coastal areas. We also follow MoRTH guidelines and global performance standards to make sure everyone protects and gets the most suitable materials for long term sustainability.
6. India is still heavily dependent on imported bitumen. What challenges and opportunities do you see in this landscape? Also, which countries or regions does PP Softtech primarily import bitumen from, and why?
Despite witnessing so much growth in the Industry, India still heavily depends on imported bitumen as the local supply is not very consistent, which often leads to supply – demand imbalance. This dependence leads to various other challenges like quality inconsistencies, global price fluctuations, logistic issues, various environmental concerns and sometimes infrastructure affairs like limited port capacity or insufficient storage.
Even after these challenges, it also allows room for new ideas, innovation and global partnerships. We are also adopting smarter technologies and gradually integrating safer, more responsible practices, all without compromising on speed or performance.
At PP Softtech, we mostly import from South East Asia and Middle East as they are known for good quality and are also nearby.
7. Can you share how the company scaled so rapidly within just a few years, especially in such a competitive market?
Ans 7- The growth that we have witnessed has majorly been driven by our 3 core principles. These include quality, reliability and always putting customers first. From the very first day, we have focused on creating a solid supply chain, investing in good logistics and building trust with our clients. We very early recognised the emerging shift towards performance based materials and made sure our offerings for our clients stayed ahead of the curve. It is our ability to adapt quickly along with strong industry relations and a deep understanding of the market that has helped us grow steadily and sustainably.
8. Looking ahead, how does PP Softtech aim to contribute to India’s goal of building smarter, more resilient road networks?
At PP softtech, our vision is closely aligned with India’s growing infrastructure needs. We are working to bring in advanced bitumen technologies such as polymer modified and crumb rubber modified bitumen. These make roads stronger, more flexible and durable. Alongside this, we are also adopting smarter technologies and gradually integrating safer, more responsible practices to improve supply chain tracking, ensure consistent quality and provide real time delivery updates..
We are also planning to collaborate with research institutions and global experts to introduce sustainable and climate-resilient bituminous solutions tailored for India’s varied landscapes. With these we aim to cement our position as the go-to partner for Bitumen in India and beyond
