The state government has implemented the A-Khata and B-Khata system to enhance the management of assets. Priyank Kharge, the minister for rural development and panchayat raj, as well as the district in-charge of Kalaburagi, announced that this initiative will formalize asset ownership rights. This declaration was made during the launch of the e-Khata program at the Indira Memorial Bhavan, located within the Kalaburagi city corporation park.
He noted that there are currently 1.15 million rural properties across the state undergoing tax assessment, which is expected to yield a revenue of Rs 1,272 crore. Previously, residents within corporation limits had access to essential services for their properties but did not possess ownership rights. The new framework aims to rectify this by providing A Khata and B Khata certificates.
The minister announced that rural properties will gain legal recognition through the registration of A and B Khata. He urged the community to actively engage in this initiative. Efforts are underway to develop Kalaburagi into a smart city, with a detailed development plan expected to be finalized within two months.
Key areas of focus include enhancing urban aesthetics, fostering industrial expansion, upgrading infrastructure, and improving drainage systems. At the event, the minister presided over a ceremonial distribution of Khata certificates to local residents. The ceremony was graced by notable attendees, including MLAs Allama Prabhu Patil, Kaneez Fatima, Thippannappa Kamakanur, Chandrasekhara Patil, KUDA president Mazar Alam Khan, and Commissioner Avinash Shinde, among others.
