Birla Corporation has reported net consolidated loss after tax of Rs 25.19 crore in the second quarter of the financial year 2024-25. It had registered loss after tax of Rs 58.37 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, the company said in a BSE filing.
The company’s net consolidated total income stood at Rs 1,969.78 crore in Q2 FY25, a dip of 14.79 per cent from Rs 2,311.74 crore it recorded in the similar quarter last year.
As on September 30, 2024, its net worth stood at Rs 5,812.22 crore, debt-equity ratio in 0.63, current liability ratio was 0.35, total debts to total assets was 0.25, operating margin was 9.18% and net profit margin was -1.31%.Birla Corporation’s cement sales by volume during the September quarter at 3.97 million tons (mt) was down 5% year-on-year. The company was able to achieve an overall capacity utilization of close to 80%, and around 90% in core markets.
Work on Kundangunj Line 3 with a capacity of 1.4 mt is continuing full steam, and it is expected to be commissioned by the first quarter of the next financial year, the company said.
