Environment, vigilance and disaster management (EV & DM) wing of the GHMC on Saturday warned private transporters, builders and individuals of hefty fines against unauthorised transportation and dumping of construction debris in the city.
GHMC’s central enforcement cell (CEC) will be imposing penalties on such violations, with the help of police department. A government order (GO) was issued by the municipal administration and urban development (MAUD) department in the matter.
Officials noted that those who commit the offence for the first time will have to shell out 25,000 as fine. For the second offence, the amount will be increased to 50,000. Third offence will attract a fine of 1 lakh and confiscation of the vehicle used. Another 50,000 would be imposed against the violator for dumping the waste in an unauthorized manner.
The civic body designated four private agencies for proper disposal of construction waste. Hyderabad C&D Waste Pvt Ltd and Soma Srinivas Reddy can be contacted by phone or WhatsApp to handle waste disposal of construction debris.
