Deputy Commissioner G. Jagadeesha held a meeting to discuss the construction of the service road near Balaipade Junction and directed the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) officials to ensure that the service road works are completed in a safe and timely manner.
“The construction work of the service road from Udupi to Balaipade and to Udyavara needs to begin soon. There is an increase in traffic, and due to the lack of service roads, vehicles take the wrong route to enter the National Highway, resulting in accidents,” remarked Jagadeesha at the meeting.
“Complete the road construction at Karavali Junction, Katapadi, Ambagilu-Santhekatte, Shastri Circle, Kundapur, SMS College in Brahmavar, Mahesh Hospital, and Barkur,” ordered DC to NH officials.
He also told those in charge to take steps to fix the damaged street lights that are causing accidents on the National Highway.
Additional DC Sadashiva Prabhu, additional Superintendent of Police Kumar Chandra, Kundapur Assistant Commissioner K Raju, NHAI Project Director Shishumon, Arun and others were present.
