Ramco Cements disposed assets worth Rs 455 crore

Ramco Cements disposed assets totaling ₹455.03 crore in FY25 as part of its strategy to monetize non-core assets for debt repayment, falling short of its target of approximately ₹1,000 crore. This amount includes a gain of ₹376 crore from the sale of shares in other companies and ₹79.03 crore from the sale of land it owned, as reported in a regulatory filing by the company.

In November of the previous year, Ramco Cements announced its plan to dispose of non-core assets valued at around ₹1,000 crore, with the intention of utilizing the proceeds to reduce its debt. In its results for the December quarter, Ramco Cements reported a net debt of ₹4,616 crore as of December 31, 2024.

In the third quarter of fiscal year 2025, the company successfully decreased its debt by ₹487 crore. Based in Chennai, the company manages five integrated cement plants located in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, it operates six grinding facilities in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, West Bengal, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh. The total manufacturing capacity stands at 24 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). On the Bombay Stock Exchange, shares of The Ramco Cements were trading at ₹897.95 each, reflecting a decline of 0.03 percent.
