Over 20,000 properties sealed in Ahmedabad in a day

At least 20,789 properties were sealed and Rs 15.78 crore recovered in tax dues from the North West Zone alone by the civic body on Thursday.

The highest number of properties, 6,025, was sealed in the North Zone.

“The seal is opened if the owner pays at least half of the pending dues. If the tax remains unpaid even after sealing then the drainage is cut,” said a senior AMC official.
