The Maharashtra housing board Mhada Lottery of Konkan board for 4,640 apartments and 14 plots was declared in Thane’s Kashinath Ghanekar Auditorium on wednesday.
The board received nearly 48,805 applications for the flats in – Thane, Palghar, Ratnagiri, Raigad and Sindhudurg districts by the Konkan board of MHADA.
A MHADA official said that this year the computerized lottery system Integrate Housing Lottery Management System (IHLMS 2.0) for sale of flats constructed by MHADA and using the latest technology which is complete human involvement-free
Among the winners was Ashok Kondalkar, contractual peon staff of Mhada, tried his luck for the fourth time. He couldn’t believe his eyes when he won the flat at Ambernath’s Morivali area. A resident of Kalyan said he had lost hopes but had filled four forms and won the apartment. “I can live in my own apartment and its a dream come true.”
The first winner of this year’s lottery Abhijeet Shinde, 35 who works as a worker at a private company in Kalwa went to the stage as soon as his name was announced for winning the flat at Raymonds in Thane. He went with his wife on the stage and couldn’t control his emotions. “I live in a rented house in Kalyan and this was the first time I applied for the lottery and won it. Now my dream of having my own house is fulfilled,” Shinde said.
Earlier in the day, chief minister Eknath Shinde while inaugurating the lottery from a video conferencing he said that the dream of common citizens is getting fulfilled by the MHADA. “The response to this year’s KOnkan board draw proves the faith in Mhada housing.”
About 47,194 citizens watched the live broadcast of the draw by MHADA through webcasting, said Hemant Patil, PRO of Mhada.
