Maharashtra Citizens set to get ULPIN & property cards

The state settlement commissioner, N K Sudhanshu said the existing 3 crore documents, comprising 2.6 crore 7/12 extracts and 70 lakh property cards, had been issued the Unique Land Parcel Identification Number (ULPIN) and revenue department officials were checking them.

The state settlement commissioner, N K Sudhanshu, told that all 7/12 extracts and property cards to be issued from September 19 would have an 11-digit Unique Land Parcel Identification Number.

He said the existing 3 crore documents, comprising 2.6 crore 7/12 extracts and 70 lakh property cards, had been issued the Unique Land Parcel Identification Number (ULPIN) and revenue department officials were checking them.

“Our internal testing and issuance of ULPIN have been done for the existing documents. They can be viewed by talathis or revenue officials. It would be open to public view from mid-September. ULPIN would be generated for all new 7/12 documents and property cards. Citizens can see them on the website (https://bhulekh.mahabhumi.gov.in) from September 19,” Sudhanshu said.

“ULPINs will make navigation through documents easier as it would be like Aadhaar and the numbers can be integrated with the registration department. It would also make the process of documents’ registration easier and faster,” he said.

He said new ULPINs would be created only if a property was divided or added. “If a property is merely transferred to another person, it will continue to have the same ULPIN,” Sudhanshu, the state settlement commissioner, said.

The state government had issued a GR (government resolution) for ULPIN on July 28.
