Jindal Stainless (JSL) announced plans to invest Rs 700 crore in the upcoming years towards decarbonisation initiatives designed to minimize its carbon footprint.

The primary initiatives encompass the creation of the largest captive solar plant in Odisha, enhancements in energy efficiency, the digitisation of the supply chain to improve transparency, and community development initiatives in education, healthcare, and skill-building in the vicinity of its plants.

In FY25, JSL recorded a 14 percent reduction in CO2 emissions year-on-year, amounting to approximately 3,18,248 tonnes less compared to FY24. The company is determined to build upon this achievement in FY26 and has committed to a mid- and long-term strategy aimed at a 50 percent reduction in emissions by 2035, with the goal of reaching net zero by 2050.

These actions underscore JSL’s dedication to sustainable development and environmental stewardship within the steel sector.
