JMC gave first installment under PMAY to 110 beneficiaries

Somya Gurjar, mayor of JMC-Greater, said, “Once the construction of the houses is complete, all the beneficiaries should name their house after their daughter, because only if daughters progress, will the society progress.”

The JMC-Greater administration on Monday gave the first instalment of Rs 30,000 under PM Awas Yojana (urban) to 110 beneficiaries for construction of new houses.

Somya Gurjar, mayor of JMC-Greater, said, “Once the construction of the houses is complete, all the beneficiaries should name their house after their daughter, because only if daughters progress, will the society progress.”

Officials said that 132 beneficiaries have been selected so far by JMC-Greater for the scheme and after approval of formalities, first instalment will be given to remaining 22 beneficiaries.

House meeting today

The JMC-Greater general body will meet on Tuesday, after one month, to discuss proposals that could not be passed in the last meeting.

Due to scuffle between councillors and sloganeering, all the proposals listed in the agenda could not be discussed in the last meeting held on May 25.

Last week, deputy mayor Puneet Karnawat had written to the mayor urging to add 16 points to the agenda of the meeting. These included cleaning of drains, renaming of roads, improving waste collection, and pending payments for old projects.
