Indore district administration has identified at least 10 lands that have been freed from encroachment and are suitable to construct apartments for people of economically weaker section (EWS).
ADM Rajesh Rathod said, the state government has released a policy-2022 for developing ‘Su-Raj Colony’ on public-private-partnership (PPP) mode and without using government’s fund. Multistored apartments will be developed on the lands that have been freed from encroachment.
Each flat in these apartments will have 30-50 square metre carpet area, the policy reads. “In Indore, the administration has so far freed around 200 hectare from mafias,” the ADM said, adding that the administration has identified at least 10 such locations to propose for developing ‘Su-Raj Colony’.
As per the policy, the civic body will be able to sell the flat, on the market rate and without giving any subsidy to the buyer, after any unit of the apartment would be left from receiving application from the eligible person from EWS category. Only requirement-based development of ‘Su-Raj Colony’ will be carried out.
“Presently, there is no proposal to develop Su-Raj Colony in Indore as the policy in this regard was awaited,” he said, adding that based on the requirement and other parameters of the policy, development of ‘Su-Raj Colony’ would be planned.
