Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd (DCBL) is looking forward to increase its presence in the retail segment through the digital medium. The company has launched an app for buying cement. The company says it is the first in the segment to come up with a sales app for cement. Nagpur was chosen as the first centre for the pilot project.
Executive director of DBCL Hakimuddin Ali said the app targets retail consumers who need cement enough to build a 5,000 square feet property. This is expected to make it convenient for independent home builders and small realtors.
“The app is developed to appeal to the current and future customers. It is expected that the app will provide an opportunity to easily select the product in minimum time,” he said.
Early this year, DBCL started the operations at the Murli Cement plant in Chandrapur. The company had taken over the plant last year. Starting the Chandrapur plant has added another 2.9 million tonne to its capacity per annum.
