BDA to upload information regarding their site on official website

Those looking to purchase BDA sites are often targeted by fraudsters. However, things are looking up now as the development authority is working on providing information regarding their sites on the official website now.

The authority is adding a new link to its official website to let interested buyers access significant information to protect their interests. Through this link, potential buyers from all over India can have access to all the information about the proposed site. This includes information of the sites available Anjanapura Layout, Banashankari, Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout, Arkavathy Layout, Koramangala, Shivarama Karantha Layout, among others.

BDA is planning to establish an agreement with the sub-registrar office to upload the details of registration immediately. When a keen buyer registers for a site, information will be made available to them immediately. Prior registrations on the same site will also be reflected on the website. This will protect buyers from being cheated.

Earlier, if anyone wanted to know such information about any site, they would have to obtain an Encumbrance Certificate (EC). However, now, as soon as the planned system is in place, customers can click on the site they are interested in to get the information of the owners of the four directions, who purchased it earlier, when and other details. It will also provide any legal disputes concerning the site.

Hundreds of cheating cases, involving buying and selling of BDA sites, are reported. In many cases the fraudsters have created duplicate documents and sold them to many parties. Some victims think that they are the owners, but later discover that the site was sold to someone else years back. Some fraudsters specifically identify vacant sites, create duplicate documents and sell them. Once the new system is in place, it will help reduce the number of such illegal transactions.

A BDA official said, “We have added the information about the sites under the jurisdiction of the BDA. We have already uploaded the information on 15,000 sites. The remaining information will be added stage by stage. This will help protect more people from being cheated as the information is available in a transparent manner.”
